It’s a busy month for local bands, as the thawing spring season marks the start of new releases and forthcoming summer tours. Here’s a sample:

Veil Veil Vanish throws its CD release party for Change in the Neon Light at Popscene on Thursday, Mar. 4. 10 p.m.

Elliot Randall & the Deadmen record release party for Caffeine & Gasoline at Cafe du Nord on Saturday, Mar. 6.

Rick Estrin & The Nightcats celebrate debut release, Twisted, on Sunday, Mar. 7, at the Tri-City Bluesfest happening at the Saddle Rack (42011 Boscell Rd., Fremont). 2 p.m., $30, $50 for VIP.

B and Not B record release party on March 11 at Café du Nord. With Mist and Mast and The Thingers. 8 p.m., $10

The Paper Sons release debut album In the Throes… on March 2. The San Francisco-based band plays an all-age record release show at Sub Mission Art Space (2183 Mission St., SF) on March 13 with Death Valley High and eightfourseven. 8 p.m.

SF electro-rockers Marrow release the enticingly titled Sunshine Enema on March 2.

The morning benders release sophomore album Big Echo on March 9. CD release show March 30 at the Independent.

Oakland metal band Abscess release Dawn of Inhumanity on March 9.

SambaDa throws a release party for new album Gente! at the Independent on Saturday, Mar. 13.
