Without a lot of sporting action on a lovely Sunday in the East Bay, we decided to tromp out to Golden Gate Fields for before it closes down the racing season. It doesn’t take a lot to get us to head to the Albany oval anyhow, but the combination of sun and something brought out everybody else as well. The crowd was five deep at the rail, the lines were long for $1 beer and you had to wait your turn to place a bet, allowing more time for second and third guessing before placing a wager.
