Safeway Exec “Quits”

The East Bay Business Times reports that Safeway executive Des Hague has quit the company, after 28 years of working his way up the ladder, to “pursue other business opportunities.” Is this one of those “spend more time with my family” euphemisms? Before his sudden “resignation,” Hague’s last title was President of Perishables. Insert pun here!
