Right now it sucks to be Louis Murphy, the Raiders wide receiver who was pulled over in Gainesville, Florida — ostensibly for bumping music too loud in his SUV. What began as a routine traffic stop ended with Murphy trussed in handcuffs, for among other things, a bottle of unprescribed Viagra (whoops). Twenty-three year old Murphy, who played college football at the University of Florida Gainesville, was also charged with general recalcitrance. As Sean Leahy reported in USA Today, Murphy refused to pull over, then resisted arrest. He told the Gainesville Sun that he actually had a Viagra prescription — he’d just torn the label off. Fortunately, all charges are misdemeanors. No hard time (bad pun intended) for this guy.
