.Finding an Inmate in Alameda County Made Easier

Have a loved one in jail? (Chances are high that’s a yes.) Need to know their bail amount, hearing date, or charges filed? A new feature on the Alameda County web site will allow you to find out, reports the Tri-Valley Herald. The Inmate Locater gives the public access to important information on in-custody inmates, requiring their first and last name or PFN. In addition, anyone can look up who’s been booked in the last 24 hours. The database gives information on the place of arrest, the arresting agency, report number, criminal charges, upcoming court hearings, personal data (including alias’), and physical description. The blog PI Buzz notes that Alameda County is particularly behind on making this info available online.
