Family of Man Killed by Cop Sues Oakland for $10 Million

Wow, that didn’t take long. On July 25, Oakland cop Hector Jimenez tried to pull over Mack Woodfox, as he was driving erratically and may have been drunk. After a brief chase, Woodfox got out of the car, and Jimenez shot him several times, including three times in the back. Now, Woodfox’s family has filed a $10 million lawsuit against the city, and attorney John Burris told the Trib that’s just the beginning. Burris has also called for federal law enforcement agencies to prosecute Jimenez.
