Don’t Call It a Recession: Students Need Financial Aid

More students have requested financial aid than ever before, and the number has risen sharply as the economy tanks, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. The numbers are the same whether you’re talking about country or the state of California, where almost one million future information workers and unemployed fine arts majors requested some form of financial aid. Here in the East Bay, Mills College saw a 17.1 percent jump in broke students, while UC Berkeley’s number of indigent scholars rose 19.4 percent.
