Don’t Call It a Recession: Livermore Lab Jobs Cut

So the East Bay Business Times has a short story about Lawrence Livermore Laboratory officials backing off a plan to set off massive explosions in the Altamont Hills. That’s all well and good, but buried in the piece is the startling fact that since Becthel joined the team overseeing the lab, cuts in government funding have forced Livermore to lay off nine hundred people. That’s a spicy meatball right there.
