Elena Castaneda was run over and killed by a dump truck yesterday morning at the intersection of San Pablo Avenue, West Street, and Isabella Street, reported Indybay. The truck was traveling south down San Pablo, turning onto West Street when the driver struck Castaneda, who was cycling north on San Pablo. Apparently, local residents have long complained about the speed in which cars zip down West, which is used as a shortcut to get to West Grand Avenue.
