Corrections for the week of January 17-23, 2007

EDITOR’S NOTE
Members of the Bay Area Black Journalists Association gathered Tuesday night in Oakland for a heated discussion regarding a recent Express cover story, “The Making of a Criminal” (November 8, 2006), which featured the photograph of a young, dreadlocked black man on the cover. While no one present at the meeting challenged the accuracy of the story, the audience expressed dismay that the image and headline perpetuated negative stereotypes about young African-American men. The Express is sorry for the genuine anguish our cover caused some readers.
