Elements is one of those rare stores that actually deserves the title “boutique.” It sells clothes, bags, boxes, hats, and the prettiest jewelry in town. The jewelry counter is in the center of the store, and the petite shopkeepers sit behind it like trendy Tiffany’s clerks, eager to pull out a padded velvet display board of rings ready for you to pluck like chocolates. The store carries many pieces created by artists — but not in a Mendocino hippie way, more like the gift shop at MoMA. There are hundreds of earrings, necklaces, and bracelets as well, in all styles. The prices are reasonable if not cheap.
