The Latinx LGBTQ community doesn’t have a shortage of icons who have always rallied behind them showing support. One of the most outspoken icons is Mexican singer and actress Lucía Méndez. For gay men who grew up in the Eighties and Nineties, Lucia Mendez was plastered all over Spanish TV and radio, here in the States and all throughout Mexico and Latin America. Her novelas were a staple in Latinx households everywhere, and so was her music, a mix of ballads, and danceable pop tracks. Mendez will be at Club Papi in Oakland, the East Bay’s largest LGBTQ dance club, to sing some of her greatest hits, and grace the stage for some of her most fervent fan base. Don’t miss the opportunity to see this Mexican diva on stage.
Friday August 18, 9pm, 21 and over, $23-$57.50, Club Papi, 2111 Franklin St, Oakland, ClubPapi.com.
