For a few weeks in the summer, insiders gossiped about the triumphant return of former Oakland City Manager Robert Bobb, who was fired by Mayor Jerry Brown three years ago. Even though Bobb went to Washington D.C. to take a job as city administrator, he kept ties to Oakland, remaining president of the city’s African American Chamber of Commerce for a time. Now comes word that Bobb has been elected school board president in D.C. And guess who endorsed his bid-the Moonie-owned Washington Times.
