Following the release of her debut EP, The Favor, in June, San Francisco singer Illa is ready to rock a live set for her fans. If you haven’t peeped her album yet, I suggest starting with the track, “I Remember,” which exemplifies that old-school R&B sound reminiscent of Brandy. Joining Illa is Oakland’s own, Beejus. Perhaps you’ve heard of him through his brutally honest and funny podcast, Awkward Conversations With Beejus. But maybe you’ve also heard of him because he is always doing cool things throughout the Town, like performing (or podcasting) at local shops, bars, and venues with other burgeoning artists. Speaking of, Fairfield rapper T.Carriér is headlining Heart of The Summer and he is actually pretty stoked. “This is my first headliner in the Bay. This concert is really for the fans. I want to give them an [unforgettable] experience,” he said. In other words, don’t miss this show — even better, get “Meet and Greet” tickets to see for yourself why these three artists are on the rise in the Bay.
Saturday, August 5, Meet and Greet 6pm, Doors at 7pm, 18+, $8-25, 1710 Mission St, San Francisco, BrickAndMortarMusic.com.
