When running for public office — you know, the ones where you try to convince voters you’re competent enough to get the job done — it always helps to not blow it right out of the gate. But according to the Oakland Tribune, that’s just what Oakland school board member and would-be City Council candidate Greg Hodge did this week. Seems Hodge forgot to verify the validity of the signatures he filed with the City Clerk when he decided to challenge Nancy Nadel for her West Oakland seat. Now he’s out, unless he manages to win an appeal. Hey, it happens to the best of ’em, Greg. Remember a certain Elihu Harris?
