.Best Dog Park with a View

Point Isabel Regional Shoreline

Visits to the dog park should be as pleasant for the humans as they are for the canines. But the reality is that dog parks are often smelly, cramped, and fenced, leaving you to sit on a pee-stained bench as Fido plays. Not Point Isabel Regional Shoreline — the 23-acre park is the largest public off-leash dog park in the nation, and on clear days provides a stellar view of the Golden Gate Bridge. A large path takes you along the shoreline, through native plants, leaving your dog free to run through the grass or hop in the water to chase ducks. At the end of the loop, you’ll both have gotten plenty of exercise in a gorgeous setting. A self-service dog wash, dog-friendly water fountain, and people-friendly cafe provide the finishing touches on what’s probably the nicest dog park in the Bay.
