Want a cave-bear cheek tooth? For $25, you can own that inch-long piece of a long-dead bear. If you want to decorate your living room or kitchen in a skull motif, the Bone Room is your place for all manner of decorative dead things. Berkeley’s weirdest store offers all the amazing sights of a natural history museum, but with one major difference: Everything here has a price tag on it. For two Jacksons you can get a pinned Harlequin beetle, frame and all. While the jewelry and skulls available here are delightfully desiccated, few items here can match the beauty of a metallically preserved and mounted spiderweb. The eight-legged artisans of these terrifically sticky-ticky traps were not harmed in the creation of the $50-to-$80 creations. At that price, these spiders should be able to retire before many of their customers can.
