Oakland Tribune columnist Tammerlin Drummond raised numerous good questions today about the March 21 fatal shootings of four police officers and whether errors led to any or all of their deaths. Glad to see someone from the Trib finally broaching this issue. Drummond also broke news that OPD is conducting an internal investigation of the killings. But she warned OPD officials that they “must resist the temptation to close ranks and instead be forthcoming with the information once the investigation is concluded.” She’s right, of course, but I’m skeptical that they will follow her sound advice.
