Well, maybe scare isn’t quite the word. But two students were nabbed at Laney College yesterday when police allegedly found guns in the backpacks where textbooks and condoms usually belong. The Trib sez that Laney officials told the police they suspected someone was strapped in class, and when the cops arrived, they recognized the two men as suspected gang members with convictions for burglary, robbery, and gun offenses. And the guns? One loaded .40 caliber pistol, and one spooky tech-9 assault doohickey. Fellas, please – that’s not how you get your fellow students to share their lecture notes.
