The game came to a painful impasse in the second quarter, with a trio of three-and-out series by both offenses.
But Khalil Mack took a knife to that stagnation bubble at the quarter’s end, snatching a Cam Newton screen pass for a pick-six, which put the Raiders ahead 24-7 at halftime.
Chilly but killer day in the Bay
Raider defense let the Panthers back in the game. Sparked by a BS “Roughing the Cam” penalty and yet another big play gift from the Silver and Black (in the form of a 47-yard Jonathan Stewart sprint through a hole the size of the Posey Tube), Cam ran the ball in on first-and-goal to equalize the game at 7-7.
