Traffic on Bay Area freeways was relatively light this morning after hundreds of thousands of commuters got an early start on the Labor Day weekend because of the Bay Bridge closure. According to the Contra Costa Times, BART and ferry ridership appeared to be up, but not significantly. The CHP reported that the only trouble spot was on the Marin County side of the Golden Gate Bridge.
