Nef the Pharaoh’s latest release, The Chang Project, is an energetic showcase of his versatility and charm over the course of fifteen tracks — the longest album yet from the South Vallejo artist. With features ranging from Mozzy to Larry June, and Caleborate to Khyenci, this album really has a wide range of sounds from Northern California. The project is laced with familiar samples, tons of local references, and ad-libs throughout, making it a highly-anticipated project to see live, especially in Oakland. The song I am most looking forward to is “Bling Blaow,” which features the young, slick talking crew, SOBxRBE. You still have time to Google it if you haven’t heard the banger — trust me, you will want to rock with this one. Accompanying Nef are openers DJ Chillz, Draztic Music, and Swift. This is a perfect chance to discover some new talent while also making sure to catch the Vallejo prodigy perform his latest.
