Harry Manx

Wise and Otherwise

Harry Manx explores a different sound — a cool East/West soup of acoustic blues with Indian influences; think Ravi Shankar meets Robert Johnson. The two styles mix beautifully on Wise and Otherwise, his second album. He tempers the passion of the blues with the meditative quality of a raga on The Gist of Madhuvanti / The Thrill Is Gone, his blend of an original Indian-style composition with B.B. King’s classic. While his vocal range is limited, Manx plays slide guitar beautifully. Manx’s tunes are full of emotion and they leave you feeling serene, which is just as appealing.
