Berkeley High was put on temporary lockdown following reports of a gunshot fired this morning, around 8:45 a.m., according to Berkeleyside. Campus security officers followed one possible suspect — called a “responsible” in Berkeley-speak — east bound on Durant Avenue, after receiving a call from a landscape gardener, who heard the shot. At 10:18 a.m. two suspects — one of them a Berkeley High student — were detained at the high school’s G and H buildings. The gun was later found at the 2200 block of Haste Avenue. The two male suspects are currently in juvenile booking and the portable wall has a nickel-sized bullet hole. No other collateral damage has been reported.
