When Free Speech Movement vet Michael Rossman died in May, he left behind his collection of 25,000 political and cultural posters, a remarkable chronicle of forty years of Bay Area culture. Now, his family and friends are trying to find a home for them. According to the Oakland Tribune, librarian and Berkeley resident Lincoln Cushing is hitting the phones, trying to find an institution that will archive and preserve the posters. He expects the work of cataloguing them will take years, but says it’s a solid way to honor his friend.
