.Feminist Lit’s Camille Paglia Speaks at Berkeley Arts & Letters Series

Camille Paglia’s best-selling Sexual Personae, published in 1990, set a high bar for assertive feminist literature. Since, she has continued to brazenly challenge long-accepted feminist icons such as Gloria Steinem, and praise overtly sexual and intellectually savvy celebrities like Madonna. She’s also insisted that men not be thrown under the bus as a precursor for women to rise up. Paglia will read from her new book, Free Women, Free Men, during an author appearance on Tuesday, March 21, at the Hillside Club, as part of the Berkeley Arts & Letters series. I predict that she’ll at once rile a folks and also inspire applause and shouts of “bravo.”

Tuesday, March 21, 7:30pm, $12-48, Hillside Club, 2286 Cedar St., Berkeley,
