.E.M. Wolfman Turns Three

Our favorite general interest small bookstore, founded by Justin Carder in April of 2014 is celebrating its third birthday and you’re cordially invited! The Oakland oasis for everyone with, well, general interests resides on a cozy block of 13th Street. Whether you’re looking for all of Clarice Lispector’s stories jam-packed into one cumbersome doorstop of a book (read: hi, me) or a local artist’s chapbook, chances are you’ll find it here. Plus, the bookstore moonlights as a gallery and hosts regular music shows and an unconventional residency programs. It’s a whole lot more than you probably bargained for. So be sure to stop by their anniversary party this Friday for live tunes courtesy of the band Real Life, postcards made by a number of local artists (including, but not limited to: Lukaza Branfman-Verissimo, Sarah Burke, and Ryanaustin Dennis), and the debut of their brand-new tote bag designed by Soleil Summer (pictured). Happy Birthday, E.M. Wolfman. You are a local treasure.

Friday, April 21, 6pm, Free, 410 13th St, Oakland, WolfmanHomeRepair.com.
