The Alameda Alliance for Health, a health plan that offered vision, dental, and medical insurance for as many as one thousand uninsured children in the East Bay, has been forced to shut down. According to the East Bay Business Times, the state budget deficit has forced the county to redirect tobacco settlement money, which once provided half the Alliance’s funding.
