It’s definitely a place to stop on the first of the month, but every piece inside designer Ursula Landermeier’s three boutiques screams quality and timelessness. The droolworthy coats, career pieces, and dresses manage to be tailored, sexy, and sophisticated at the same time. A delicate white cardigan skims a chartreuse rayon skirt; a wool coat confers instant class. Introduced in the ’90s, the line stems from Landermeier’s childhood checking out the haute couture windows in Paris, on trips she and her friends would take from their homes near the France/Luxembourg border. Now, her obsession with fabric and fit is revealed in the sensuous lines of her garments. Landermeier’s web site advocates buying a few key pieces, then mixing and matching them for season-long femininity. Local women luck out, as happening upon Riki during a sale is a reason to celebrate indeed.
