Who ever said pick-up joints were solely for the young? Bing Crosby’s, in Walnut Creek for more than three years now, puts the “old” in old school. Parked at the end of tony Broadway Plaza, where Crown Books used to be, is a virtual museum of Bing Crosby. It is also a highly recommended California Cuisine restaurant with a swanky piano bar and gorgeous lounge to boot. Once the drinks start flowing, so does the mojo of the bar patrons. Single women can attract a large amount of attention, and business cards get exchanged at a frenetic pace. If you are searching for a low-key meeting place for the ladies’ book club, this is not your lounge. Groups of women can and do get approached, so don’t go in if you want to be left alone. It’s kind of like adding chum to the water.
