Postino

New owners and a new chef haven’t harmed Postino, Lafayette’s most romantic restaurant, one bit. Its Cal-Ital food is still as robust and as elegant as it used to be under Cat Cora. Longtime favorites such as garganelli with rabbit and pancetta stayed on the menu, but they’re now joined by fennel-crusted ahi in a corn sabayon, and clams and sausage. If it’s braised, it’s sure to fall tenderly off the bone, and if it’s green and leafy, it’s bound to be perfectly dressed. Hide yourself away amid Postino’s network of small, stone-walled rooms, where you and whoever you want to be tucked away with can clink glasses of Barolo and moon over your food — and each other.
