The East Bay Depot for Creative Reuse is a veritable treasure trove for the visual artist and connoisseur of knick-knacks. The Depot collects discarded goods, saving them from landfills and junk-yards and redistributes them as low cost art supplies. Thus, you will find vintage furniture, home decor, paper supplies and various oddities all at arbitrarily low prices. Barrels full of corks and bottle caps, cheap plastic figurines, shells and trinkets; the Depot has everything you need to deck out your art car, make a giant shrine, you name it. All this, and a friendly staff, low prices, and a green-friendly philosophy of waste reduction. Since 1979, the depot has been a valuable resource for East Bay ‘zinesters, artists, and the other assorted weirdos who make up our vibrant art community. Got a hoarding problem? Don’t know what to do with all those empty film canisters? The depot is also a great option for getting rid of some of your clutter and hopefully getting it into the hands of someone who will make something beautiful out of it.
