There are as many reasons to go to bars as there are types of bars. And sometimes, you just want to feel like you’re drinking a cold one in your backyard. Telegraph is just that establishment. It feels like it was opened by someone who had no other agenda than to provide his neighbors and friends with a comfortable spot to gather, relax, and drink. It’s low-key and unpretentious and delivers solidly on the two most important elements of a beer garden: sunny outdoor seating and affordable pints (twelve beers are now on tap). It goes one step further by offering tasty house-made sausages and burgers, as well as vegetarian options. Telegraph’s community-minded ethos is explicit — there’s a weekly film screening, poetry nights, and colorful graffiti adorns the enormous North-facing wall. If only every neighborhood were so fortunate.
