.Berkeley Demo Against Bailout

You know, we’ll always find Berkeley one of the more charming cities around. As the Daily Cal reports, a small group of people decided to stage an ad hoc protest against the bailout of Wall Street mortgage holders, at the corner of San Pablo Avenue and Gilman Street. Among the protesters was a Haas Business School grad student, all dressed up in a power suit and everything. You gotta love a town that never gives up a chance for political theater. Some young children came by and joined the protest, thinking it was against a certain outgoing president. “We are trying to get Bush far far away out of this country to Europe or something,” Kenneth Alridge told the Daily Cal. What, and spoil any hope we have of backpacking around the Continent? We were thinking Turkmenistan might be more appropriate.
