The weekend officially starts on Thursdays, and the perfect way to unwind from a stressful work week and look forward to the weekend ahead is by getting an early start on the social calendar.
The team at Oakland Central have come up with a cool summer-fall series right in the heart of downtown Oakland. Every third Thursday of the month ’til October 19, there will be a free event featuring different musical acts, DJs, and of course food trucks and craft beer. On June 15, Latham Square will be the stage that will host the soulful, afro-diasporic sounds of Jennifer Johns, and JAX, a Haitian-American band led by teenagers. Aima the Dreamer and DJ Lady Ryan are also part of the lineup. Don’t worry about going hungry: bites from Off the Grid food trucks will also be there, and brews by Old Kan.
