.State Cuts Off Water to Local Towns

Fearing a continuation of the two-year drought, the state of California has decided to lower its allocation of water to local cities by 85 percent, effectively forcing many Bay Area towns to start rationing water unless heavy rains come this winter. In the East Bay, the cities of Fremont, Newark, and Union City will be hit, but the East Bay Municipal Utility District doesn’t depend on state water and will be spared.
