MISSING: Alfonso Arechiga

Elderly Oakland Man Missing. Alzheimer’s patient disappeared Tuesday



Alfonso “Al” Arechiga, an 85-year-old Alzheimer’s patient, has been missing since Tuesday, April 5, according to his family. Arechiga is a 5-foot-ten-inch tall, 170 pound Hispanic/Latino male with brown eyes, grey-brown hair, and a mustache. At the time of his disappearance he was wearing a tan jacket and navy-blue pants with brown shoes.


Police say Arechiga was last seen about 3 p.m. Tuesday near the 4300 block of Turner Avenue. 

Arechiga  is a loving father of three, grandfather of six, husband, and has lived in the same east Oakland neighborhood for over 50 years. He attended Saint Mary’s High school in Berkeley, Saint Mary’s college, served in the US Army, and often found walking around the Lake Chabot Golf Course.
