Based in Oakland, Roast Co. is known for its rich, single-origin coffee beans culled from farms worldwide. The secret behind its coffees’ authentic taste is the company’s commitment to slow-roasting fresh beans. Roast Co. also concocts its own blends, such as the West Oakland blend, which features beans from Central America, Africa, and the Pacific Islands. Founder and “master roaster” Alex Roberts exhibits his vision of making coffee an experience for the drinker through deliberate preparation from bean to brew. Although the shop is closed on weekends, you can find Roast Co. coffee at cafes and restaurants all over the East Bay, including Authentic Bagel Company, Cosecha, Chop Bar, Brown Sugar Kitchen, and more.
