Addison Endpapers

Julie Addison and her two daughters opened their tiny shop in 1995 along a strip of Telegraph Avenue known mainly for its piercing studio and women’s coffee shop. They later moved a few blocks down to the current spot, where their famous printed papers have become something of an East Bay legend. At Addison Endpapers, one never knows what to expect next: glass-topped boxes lined with antique wallpaper, a mother-of-pearl fountain pen, toile wrapping paper, bits of lace, and what the ladies often call “ephemera.” The store also specializes in wedding invitations. Couples can design their own with images they bring, or choose from hundreds in the shop. As with many a true artisan, Addison is a bit lax on meeting deadlines, but if you’re not in a rush, the result is splendid.
