What if kids learned about science for the sheer fun of it? That’s just what Sarah Shaffer aims to do: make science so exciting that kids — and their teachers — find new pleasure in learning about the world. The naturalist has been teaching children and teachers about science for more than fifteen years, and offers kids’ classes, summer day and school vacation camps, and school programs. During a camp or class experience with Shaffer, kids might create a sanctuary for a pond snail; make a mini-Ferris wheel or a rubber-band robot; design a worm-compost bin; or make and launch a balloon rocket.
