Note to Livermore: The Merlot’s Fruitier on our Side of the Border

In a move that could be seen as eonological throwing down, Pleasanton’s poised to cop some luster from Livermore’s exploding wine scene by building a wine center all its own. Plans for the 5,000-square-foot tasting facility could be approved by the city council tonight. It would be adjacent to the planned Ruby Hills Events Center and have its own small winery. The Livermore Valley now has 38 wineries, up from about 20 just five years ago.
