Last night, a cattle trailer chugging along I-680 crashed, and an undetermined number of cows escaped into the night, stampeding across Highway Four in search of freedom! Sweet, glorious freedom! Alas, things didn’t turn out the way their little bovine brains had hoped. According to the Contra Costa Times, cars struck two of the cows and left them dead or mortally wounded. One passing trucker stopped, pulled out a knife, and put a cow out of her misery by drawing it across her throat. Then the intrepid motorist dragged the body off the road. Still, it was a nice try, ladies.
