Just a little bit of shine off the ol’ A’s-Bosox series this weekend you think? The Oaklands are fourteen games out of first place and couldn’t see the wild card with a pair of binoculars and standing on tip toes. The Boston boys traded Manny Ramirez so that L.A. could have something to obsess about until Kobe Bryant is ready to strap it on. Jason Bay will be the new guardian of the Green Monster and his one dimensional slugging will probably pay off in a playoff run for the major’s least appealing team. Which is where the A’s come in to play.
Slap Hitter: Bay’s Ball in Boston thrills few.
