9 p.m. Friday: Best Place to Laugh at Those Less Fortunate

Benihana Japanese Steakhouse

Should you get lost looking for the above warehouse, you should only hope to end up here. What better way to cap off a chopped and grilled meal at this in-your-face Japanese steakhouse chain than to head to the restaurant’s lounge and watch a little in-your-face karaoke, drunken Concord native style? The show runs Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, and if you arrive around nine you’ll see people who’ve spent two hours getting tipsy enough to have the guts to head to the stage and sing “I Believe I Can Fly” or “Wild Thing” and try to emulate the dance moves of Michael Jackson (no matter what song they choose). The cocktail staff is friendly, the drinks come in ceramic volcanoes and big Buddha bellies, and this unique form of live spectator entertainment is both free and full of first-timers. Awww yeah!
