.United Church of Christ Leader Calls for “Sacred Conversation” on Race

Apparently stung by the nasty identity politics swirling around the Democratic primary race, United Church of Christ leader John Thomas showed up at a Danville church and called on his parishoners to start a new national conversation on the state of race relations in this country. Too bad the entire congregation was white; according to the Chron, only two African Americans were in attendance, and they were specifically invited as part of the initiative. This triggered new bouts of liberal awkwardness, as parishoners said things like eleven am on Sunday is the most segregated hour in America, or worried that even making this effort is another example of white people setting the agenda.
