Yesterday we reported about another sexual assault by Lake Merritt. Today a suspect was apprehended by Oakland police on suspicion of robbing and molesting a woman last week, the Trib reports. Police will not disclose the man’s identity until his case is review by the District Attorney’s office. They described him, rather opaquely, as a 20-year-old parolee who was previously charged with burglary. He was arrested at a downtown halfway house, and is currently being investigated for a spate of assaults in the Lake Merritt area. He is not, however, being cited as a suspect in the February assault of a woman in Chinatown.
