.New Problems for Oakland Cops

Chip Johnson doesn’t think we need that many internal affairs officers in Oakland. Unfortunately the Oakland cops keep doing things like fabricating evidence to get search warrants illegally. Yesterday, as the latest scandal expanded, the district attorney was forced to drop charges against Reginald Oliver, who had been charged with possession ammunition as a felon. The guy had the ammo, to be sure. But the cops made up evidence to get the warrant that got them in his house. Without a strong internal affairs division, this just vanishes into the ether.
