1. Kamala Harris has retaken the lead over the Steve Cooley in the California attorney general’s race. As of yesterday afternoon, the San Francisco County DA was ahead of her Los Angeles County rival by about 14,000 votes. The Democrat Harris is being fueled by the Republican Cooley’s voter-rich home county, which she is leading by 13 percentage points.
2. Democratic incumbent Jerry McNerney continues to lead Republican challenger David Harmer in the East Bay’s tight Congressional race. McNerney, who has already declared victory, leads by about 1,700 votes with almost all of the counting completed.
