Attorney General Jerry Brown finally announced his official candidacy for governor yesterday, confirming what everyone has already known for more than a year. But the question is, will Brown begin actively campaigning against his wealthy GOP rivals, Meg Whitman and Steve Poizner? Or will the former Oakland mayor continue to sleepwalk through the campaign and allow them, particularly Whitman, to frame the 2010 political agenda and catch up in the polls?
