1. With massive flooding in the region around Guerneville, Gov. Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency in Sonoma County, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. $$




2. “Pacific Gas & Electric acknowledged Thursday that it will likely be found responsible for the deadliest wildfire in California history,” CNN reports. The response comes a day after the utility was found to have known the transmission tower believed to have caused the Camp Fire required maintenance for five years.




3. A union official told a rally of 1,000 striking Oakland officials to “stay strong” and a resolution to the six day is “almost there,” the East Bay Times reports.
